This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the Board of Management (BOM) framework in Kenya, with a special focus on governance, leadership, legal compliance, and accountability in Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Participants will explore the provisions of the Basic Education Act, 2013, Ministry of Education guidelines, and governance structures that guide effective management of JSS institutions.

The course equips BOM members, school administrators, headteachers, education officers, sponsors, and stakeholders with the knowledge and practical skills required to provide strategic leadership, oversee finances, ensure compliance with education policies, support curriculum implementation, and promote quality learning outcomes. Participants will also examine ethical leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk management, learner welfare, and performance monitoring within the JSS environment.
